About
Hawaii-born Deeling C. Gregory's art has been as eclectic as the many decades she's been making it. From large-scale public murals featuring her "bubble-o" buffalos to nearly daily digital mixes (started in 2015), much of her work veers toward the surreal. Once a math major at Stanford, she's been hooked on art since her sister encouraged her to take a figurative drawing class. She traveled to Europe, finished up at Stanford, and attended the San Francisco Art Institute.
She's creating from her studio in Montana, near a nuclear outpost in the heart of a mostly rural ranch and farm area. She draws inspiration from an enchanted childhood, a thirty-year stint in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the stark-but-beautiful surroundings of her current home.

You've gotten this far, so please enjoy a few poems -- as a treat.
A Poem:
Sun latitudes, sonorous gems,
The light flickers, shadows dart,
Leafy imps and pungent fruit,
Dolorous blooms,
The tinkling of jade,
Teardrops rippling,
Crashing waves,
Still water,
Birdsong,
A child smiles
Poem 2:
Lotus blossoms, one, two, three,
Greener than the greenest horns,
Flying ponies, pink and red,
Also flying, birds of prey,
Horses, riders on the shore,
Themselves a spectacle…
